The Town of Smithers and the Village of Telkwa collaborated to launch a new shop local program called The River Routes, which replaces the “Love Smithers” and “Love Telkwa” programs. The River Routes is a guide to help you explore the rich diversity of the entrepreneurs, artisans and local businesses in Telkwa, Smithers and in between. The River Routes encourage residents and visitors alike to embrace the spirit of shopping locally and supporting our regional economy.
This shopping local program is a collaboration between the Town of Smithers and the Village of Telkwa. This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Rural Economic Development and Infrastructure Program and the Northern Development Initiative Trust
