Dates of operation
Campground Operational Dates: May 15 - October 1, 2025
Reservations can only be made up until 3 days prior to arrival date. After the 3-day reservation cutoff sites are only available on a first-come, first-served basis. By combining both reservation and first-come, first-served polices we aim to provide a fair and balanced system for all campers while allowing us to manage our campground capacity efficiently.
You cannot make a reservation within 3 days of your expected arrival. If you are looking to stay within this 3 day window, please make your way down to the campground on the date you are looking to stay. Campsites will then be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Check-in time is 1PM. Check-out time is 11AM. No early check-ins or late check-outs.
Full payment of camping fees is required to secure a reservation. Reservation holders must be at least 19 years of age and are responsible for the actions of all party members.
Riverside Municipal Campground will not be responsible for allocating multiple sites to those in your group, that will be the responsibility of the group coordinator/reservation holder.
Cash, debit or credit card is accepted. We do not accept American Express or cheques. Canadian currency is required.
While booking through our online reservation portal, all campers must make an account to complete the booking process. If you are having trouble with your account, password, etc. please email recreation@smithers.ca.
Refunds and amendments to your reservation can be made up to 3 days in advance of your stay (a minimum of 72 hours before your reservation starts).
At this time, campers cannot complete refunds or amendments on their own. Please submit the form to request a refund or amendment and staff will review your request within 14 days.

Serviced Campsite (15 amps) $42/night Serviced Campsite (30 amps) $44/night Unserviced Campsite $34/night Tent Site $27/night Firewood $10/bundle - The campground gates are closed daily from 11pm-7am.
- Open fires in designated fire pits only. Please attend your campfire at all times and ensure it is fully extinguished.
- All pets must be on a leash, please pick up after your pet.
- Excessive noise is not permitted, quiet time begins at 10pm. This includes running generators.
- Alcohol is prohibited in the campground with the exception of your campsite.
- Dirt bikes and ATV's are prohibited.
- Please refrain from cleaning fish at the campground as it attracts wildlife.
- Shower House - equipped with coin showers and flush toilets. Please note that the showers only accept loonies for use, and this facility is for reservation holders only.
- Outhouses - for both campers and day users
- Firewood - available for $8/bundle

Serviced sites: Water, sewer and electrical hookups (either 15amp or 30amp)
Unserviced sites: No hookups, flat pad designed for RV's/tent trailers
Tent sites: No hookups, grassy/flat area designed for tents only
Sites vary between 50-65 ft in length, we do not have pull through sites.

• 6 people maximum per site
Full Service/Unserviced Sites
- 1 trailer unit and 1 tent, or
- two tents
Only one trailer unit allowed per site.
Tent Sites
• 2 tents per site
Vehicles
• 1 vehicle per tent site
• 2 vehicles per unserviced site
• 2 vehicles per full service site
Parking
Parking is limited within the campground, please talk with Campground Host if you need assistance about where to park, including day parking.
There is no sani dump station located on site, although our full service sites do have sewer hookups.

We won’t be taking any large tour group bookings in the months of July/August. We can accommodate large tour groups in May, June and September during the weekdays (anywhere between checking in Sunday evening and leaving Friday morning).
Minimum
1 day is the minimum. To make a reservation for a statutory holiday weekend, you are required to book a minimum of 3 nights.
Maximum
Campers can stay up to 14 consecutive days and then must leave the campground for 72 hours before re-booking.
