The Town of Smithers joins our neighbors across the region in mourning the passing of Alice Maitland, former Mayor of the Village of Hazelton and a remarkable leader who dedicated 42 years to her community.
Alice was a trailblazer, a mentor, and an advocate for the North. Her contributions to local government and her deep commitment to her community have left a lasting legacy.
